Once Upon a Book Club Subscription Box Reveal

32 Comments/ 661/ 1

You know I am always up for checking out a subscription box and when it involves books it is pretty much a no brainer for me.  I found out about Once Upon a Book Club  and decided to check it  out for a month or two.

The concept is a really fun one.  Receive a box with a book each month and along with that book are gifts that are to be opened at various times while reading the book.

If you do it the right way (which I did not do for the first box I received because I got behind) you read the book and on certain dates as outlined in the brochure that comes packed in each box you can discuss the book up to that point with other readers.

All you have to do is read the discussion question and discuss online on their Instagram account.

While I did not do that on the first book I hope to be able to keep up with my second book .

But what fun this subscription box is.  The book for this month was The House on Harbor Hill by Shelly Stratton and I thoroughly enjoyed the book.  While I am not always into reading chick literature this one was pretty good and not too “chicky” if that makes any sense.  I loved seeing the little notes in the book telling me to open my next package and tried to figure out ahead of time just what that would be.

The gifts for this book ranged from fuzzy slippers to a book and I loved following seeing how the gifts fit into the story.

Once Upon a Book Club offers both an adult box as well as a young adult box. These boxes cost $34.99 which is a bit on the high side so I doubt that I will continue this as a regular thing but it has been fun to see what the book is and what the gifts are that go along with it.  I think it would be a great gift for someone and I have already gifted a month to my niece.

You can also purchase past boxes by going to their Shop on their website.

I purchased this subscription on my own and did not receive anything from Once Upon a Book Club.

This may become my favorite gift to give to my book loving friends.  Check them out on their social media channels that are listed below.

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...
