Our new home—Madison, South Dakota

Leave a Comment/ 1538/ 0

We are so happy that we are now officially residents of South Dakota!!! We spent a couple nights in Madison and Sioux Falls and now officially have driver’s licenses and the whole bit –even a mailing address! Things are moving right along and we are getting excited about going to live in Australia. I am trying to get all of our accounts organized, make sure we have online billing for everything and am going to start the long process of changing addresses, etc. Seems like I just did this!!!
Chris is winding down his days at Graham and is training his “replacement” though no one can ever replace him!!! We are sorting through our clothing one more time, making piles of things to give to Goodwill, things to lock up in the house here, things to send to Ohio to leave, things to take on the plane and things to ship to Australia! Whew! It makes my head spin but I think we will make it. I work best under pressure so I think this week I will make a lot of headway on what needs to be done. We got through the garage sale in great shape and I had plenty of time to get ready for that so I think we will be just fine.

So that is what is going on here–right now it is pouring down rain, Chris is watching the race and I have two kitties sound asleep next to me on the bed while I type! Life is good!

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

I loved this book! It had my interest from the very first page and was my "airplane" book on a recent trip. Author Mary Kubica created believable and interesting characters that the reader learned to identify with and care about. Mi...

All the Light We Cannot See

This is quite a book! I had it recommended to me by several people and while I thought it might be a little dark and depressing it made me have a better understanding of what life in this time period was like. The strength of the huma...

An Abundance of Katherines

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
