Queens Berry and Flower Farm, Pisgah Forest

13 Comments/ 726/ 0

Chris and I have lived in our little place in Connestee Falls for six years and the good news is that we are still finding new places to visit. Just when I think I have been to every farm market and produce stand around I discovered that I had indeed missed a very important one.

Queens Berry and Flower Farm is located at 858 Davidson River Road in Pisgah Forest just outside of Brevard, NC. While I had heard of it before we just had never gone there. Then I saw a post on Facebook that they had gotten in some FIGS and I was all over it. (More on the figs later.)

The farm is a U Pick place with blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, and flowers to pick. They have some other produce and it is just a really great place to go to get some nice organic, healthy food. I was just a little bit too excited when we visited but hey – it’s nice to discover a new favorite place.

Lorri graciously welcomed us, put up with my questions and excitement, and gave me the details on picking flowers. I have to admit that that was the most fun thing I have done in awhile. Just imagine rows and rows of beautiful flowers all for the picking. I had a goal in mind to get some sunflowers for a bouquet for a 86th birthday celebration of a friend but I might have gotten a few for myself as well.

A hummingbird sat still long enough to snap a quick picture.

The farm itself is beautiful and what used to be a dairy farm and has transitioned to an organic berry farm over the 20 years it has existed. I loved some of the old buildings on the property and could imagine a fun photo shoot with them in the background.

Looking for a great place to go pick some berries and flowers and soak in the beauty of the area? Queens Berry and Flower Farm is definitely the place to go in the Brevard area.
