River City Sculptures on Parade

12 Comments/ 736/ 0

If there is one thing that Mason City, Iowa knows how to do, it is how to create a great outdoor sculpture exhibit for residents and visitors. The 2022 -23 River City Sculptures on Parade boasts a whopping 80 sculptures that are on display. A lot of these have been bought and donated to the city but this year there are new statues that are up for sale for the discerning buyer.

The actual tour started in 2012 and each year the city has sought more sculptures to be included in the detailed walk and residents and visitors alike love the variety that are available. Of course I wrote several posts about the sculptures when we lived in Mason City. I will list those at the bottom of this post in case you are interested in revisiting those posts.

We didn’t have time to do the entire Sculpture Walk on our recent visit to Mason City but I was able to snap a few photos of some of the ones around the library (one of my favorite spots in Mason City) and decided it was time to share some of those with you.

Still my all time favorite one — it was one that was here before we moved and remains the one that I love the best. Maybe because it is “me”?

Aren’t these all just so fun? And to think there are so many more that folks can see makes me so happy. Thanks to Mason City for hosting this fabulous out door exhibit that just keeps getting better and better.

And finally – a selfie with Meredith Willson of Music Man fame just because it is River City.
