Oh my goodness! If you would have told me that I could fall in love again I would have denied it. The hub is the only one for me. But…it happened last night in Austin. I fell in love. Maybe not quite the same kind of love that I have for the man in my life but still it is love. And if you had told me it would be with sushi I would have laughed in your face. But it is true.
Maybe my palate has become heightened in this whole weight consciousness thing or something—I don’t know. I have stayed away from the whole sushi scene for years–just not into it. But last night our eldest son opened my eyes to the experience of a lifetime. (Thank you, Micah)
We dined at Uchiko in Austin and it was a memorable night. Micah knows what to order so we left it up to him and enjoyed platter/tray/plate/whatever of delectable treats. Not only were they delicious the presentation was stunning. Worthy of MasterChef fame and when they were delivered to our table the staff made sure to describe all of the flavors that we would be experiencing. It was awesome. I am a convert. Although I know that this was no run of the mill sushi place and that I can not expect the caliber of taste and presentation in every sushi delivery it was the perfect into into the world I had been scared to enter into.
So there you have it. A sushi convert. Not afraid of it anymore. Once again I am using one of my theme words of the year and EMBRACING a new thing. Check out their link following the pics for a trip into another world !
