When we were in Ohio back in September we did a family hike to Sheldon Marsh State Nature Preserve. It was a beautiful day and it was such a fun thing to do with my brothers and sister and their spouses. How often do we get to do that?
Of course everyone in my family loves nature and wildlife and all things that go with it. With so many that went into wildlife / biology fields it is a part of the fabric of our family, I guess. My daddy always loved birds and I can remember him helping us to identify them as we were growing up. I guess that is where I got my love of birds and nature.

Visiting Sheldon Marsh was really great. The 472-acre preserve is known to attract nearly 300 bird species and provides habitat for many kinds of wildflowers. Due to increasing development the wetlands and shorelines in Ohio are disappearing so that is why Sheldon Marsh is so important.

You know my love of beaches – I found one here.

This guy that you can barely make out made an appearance. You will have to take my word for it but it was a muskrat.
.
There was a lot to see on the trails and off the trails and it couldn’t have been a more perfect day.

Any day in nature is a good day for me. Hope you enjoyed the pictures. Have a wonderful day.
