Fall brings apples of all shapes, colors and sizes. I love apples and love the choices that are available locally both at local orchards and in the grocery stores. An apple is perfect all by itself but when paired with a delightful dip it makes it even better! I served this wonderful combo at my recent blogger gathering and it was a hit.
Apple Dip
2 blocks cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 tub caramel
1 package heath bar crumbles ( I used a combination of two kinds–milk chocolate and Bits o’ Brickle)
6 large apples–your favorite variety
Combine cream cheese, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in mixing bowl and mix with electric mixer on medium low speed.
Spread evenly on plate or whatever you are serving the dip on.
Warm caramel just enough to make it easy to spread, stir and spread evenly over cream cheese mixture.
Finish with sprinkling Heath bar crumbles on top.
Cut up apples and eat immediately or mix with 1 TBSP lemon juice to prevent them from getting brown.
What’s your favorite apple variety???

Sounds yummy! Did you miss brown sugar in the ingredient list?
Oh Probably!!! Will have to check that tomorrow when I get home! I’m a ditz! Thanks!
You’re welcome. I just thought people might wonder how much brown sugar to add if they wanted to make it. 🙂
All fixed! Thanks again!

This sounds and looks absolutely yummy.
It really is easy and a really pretty dish to serve in the fall. I didn’t get all fancy with the display but you can fan the apples out around the dip on a plate, etc. Makes it look all fancy schmancy!

That looks and sounds yummy! We’ll be having a gathering of some of my former school classmates next month. This will most likely be one of the snacks I serve!
Yay!! Just make sure you put the brown sugar in since I omitted it in the first draft! Silly me—got it all taken care of now. Thanks to Gibber!

So many good apples–hard to choose. We probably buy more Fuji, but Golden Delicious is high on my list. I tried not to look at the dip too long! I’ll bet it was wonderful.
It was wonderful and yes—there are so many fabulous varieties!!

My favorite apples are Golden Delicious & besides just eating them I love to cook with them. I have a fabulous recipe for Apple & Turnip (or Rutabaga) Casserole. Even people who hate veggies will take seconds of this dish because it tastes more like eating apple crisp than a veggie!
Ooh—I bet that is really good. I just had a fabulous baked bean dish this weekend that uses apple pie filling of all things!! It is amazing how versatile they can be!
Mmm, sounds really good! Some of our kids (well actually, they are all grown up but you know what I mean) were home this weekend from their homes hither and yon. I tried a new breakfast recipe – upside down apple french toast made with Granny Smiths apples. But I think my favorite apples are Galas. And Pink Ladies are good too.
Oh that recipe sounds yummy!!! Share???
Sending you the recipe via email. 🙂
Got it! Thanks so much!
