Snow Day (s)

18 Comments/ 432/ 0

As predicted we got a big snow. I don’t mind one snow a year. It makes us all slow down a little bit and it really is pretty in the mountains with the snow covering everything. We didn’t lose power and we have a reliable guy to clear our massive steep driveway. All in all, we made it through the storm with flying colors. Plenty of food to eat, warm house, kitties to snuggle and lots of books to read.

Enjoy a few pictures from our January 2022 snow.

This is why I bring in the bird feeders off the deck at night. Mr. Opossum came to visit last night and would have cleaned them out if I had left them hanging.

The deer were raiding the neighbor’s bird feeders which are at a perfect height for them now with the snow pack. They had tough going in the foot deep snow but they made it through our back yard and cut up through the side yard.

Our newly painted gray/blue house looks so nice in the snow, doesn’t it?

I caught a quick picture of the sunrise Monday morning after the snow had stopped. It was pretty spectacular before this shot.

Our driveway before we got it plowed.

Help is on the way!

One of the stalwart snow removalists that we can hire here in Connestee Falls. This guy has the right machine and even with the massive amount of snow that we had he knocked it out in record time.

Snoopervisor Maksim overseeing the snow removal from upstairs.

Time to go out and tidy up and throw some salt down. Sun is out but it is still cold, cold, cold. These piles are gonna be around awhile.

Did you get snow? Let me know in the comments and remember to Comment for a Cause for Mountain Laurel Animal Rescue. And by the way, I am perfectly okay with this being our one and only snow this year. I hope someone hears that ….

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
