Sometimes You Just Need a Big Ole Bowl of Chex Mix

12 Comments/ 419/ 0

Chex Mix. Party Mix. Whatever you call it it is sometimes the answer to what ails me and this past week it was. I ordered all my missing ingredients on Amazon (gotta love how many Amazon boxes I have recycled since March) and before long I had a big ole bowl of Chex Mix.

Why does that matter? In the big scheme of things it really doesn’t but instead of doing one more post about Covid – 19 and how it is seriously bumming me out I channeled my supreme culinary capabilities and made some Chex Mix. Did it solve anything?

Nope, not one thing.

But it made me feel better and provided me with some comfort that I was craving at that particular time.

Chex Mix was always a thing in my family but normally it was around Christmas time that it became a thing. Imagine my excitement when I realized it was NOT a seasonal snack but something that I could enjoy anytime I wanted to. Hallelujah!

Of course there are a million variations on the original Chex Mix recipe including the lovely sweet and chocolatey Puppy Chow but for me the original savory version is best.

This week is going to be a good one . I can feel it in my bones. A trip to the Biltmore with a friend to see the Rose Garden and the long awaited hair cut and color after 3 months will hopefully help me feel a little bit more presentable.

And endless Chex Mix. Those boxes make a lot. What are your plans for the week? I would love to hear all about them in the comments. Remember to Comment for a Cause for NAMI . Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
