Summer Favorite in Brevard, NC

6 Comments/ 464/ 0

Summer is here in full force and Chris and I absolutely LOVE summer in Brevard, NC. There is so much to do our calendars could stay full every single day with a multitude of activities but sometimes we just like to sit on our deck and enjoy doing nothing. Absolutely nothing.

One of the best things about summers in Brevard is the Brevard Music Center where over 400 students come for the summer to participate in an amazing musical experience of learning under some pretty wonderful and gifted teachers as well as performing in some extraordinary concerts. When we moved to Brevard we were blown away by the offerings during the summer at the Brevard Music Center and each year seems to just get better and better. I actually featured it as a Comments for a Cause quite awhile ago because it is such an amazing organization.

While I can’t take photographs during the performances or share any of the music – trust me – it is a pretty spectacular thing to be a part of. There is everything from classical to contemporary, bluegrass to opera and even movies with the orchestra playing the soundtrack. Genius.

The campus of Brevard Music Center is always bustling during the summer and the grounds are simply gorgeous thanks to many volunteers who make sure that things are in perfect condition for the season. A new performance building is part way finished with construction halting during the performance season which will add a much needed and beautiful space with a smaller venue.

Here are just a few pictures of some of the beauty that can be found on the grounds of the Brevard Music Center. If you need any information on tickets just click on over to their website to find out more.

Thanks for joining me today — I hope you loved the beauty that I found on the campus of the Brevard Music Center . Leave me a comment and let me know what you think and Comment for a Cause for AAUW Scholarships for Young Women.

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
