Things That Make Me Happy

Leave a Comment/ 1524/ 0

So I started my list……I am trying to use the ThingsToBeHappyAbout site to create my list but it is not behaving too well so not sure how this is going to turn out here. Yesterday when I was driving and yet another person pulled out in front of me at the HyVee/Kmart/Burger King intersection close to my house I decided that instead of whining and complaining about the horrible drivers here I should just be happy that I don’t HAVE to go that way—there is another way out of the subdivision and I am going to start taking it! Trying to turn the negative into the positive because it is just a matter of time before I get hit there….. So in my effort to maintain my happy levels here are the latest entries in my happy journal.

Sunday afternoon naps

Delivery pizza

Sitting on the deck in the sun with a good book

Getting all dressed up for church

Phone calls from my sons with cooking questions

A big long burp after a drink of soda

Talking to my mom on the phone just because I missed her

Singing along lustily to my favorite tunes

My husband’s sense of humor

fresh corn on the cob

the first cup of coffee in the morning

purring kitties

satisfaction of finishing a project

a clean kitchen

fresh sheets on the bed

a phone call from a friend you have been missing

fried macaroni and cheese

Gonna try to maintain that positive attitude and see where it gets me. Would love to hear what makes you happy today!

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

I loved this book! It had my interest from the very first page and was my "airplane" book on a recent trip. Author Mary Kubica created believable and interesting characters that the reader learned to identify with and care about. Mi...

All the Light We Cannot See

This is quite a book! I had it recommended to me by several people and while I thought it might be a little dark and depressing it made me have a better understanding of what life in this time period was like. The strength of the huma...

An Abundance of Katherines

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
