Yum Yum in my Tum Tum

I had great intentions of cooking fabulous meals while I stayed with Aaron but I neglected to figure in that 1) his place would be in continual transition and 2) that we would be running all over creation the entire time trying to get the final things needed procured! I am going to need a vacation from my vacation! But at least I had good intentions!!! I really did! I was going to cook and make stuff that he and Cory could pull out of the freezer for later. That idea soon got smashed when I saw the size of the freezer they have on the fridge. Put a box of Eggos, a couple boxes of garlic toast, a bag of frozen chicken breasts, a couple veggie bags and you are filled to capacity. But like I said–I did have good intentions.

So instead we have been experiencing the cuisine of Brier Creek which has been phenomenal. Of course. Yesterday we made the trek to the Peace College area to sample some Chinese delicacies. Great place called Peace China Restaurant. Aaron has been doing some webwork for the owner—a really nice guy, by the way, so we stopped in for some conversation and some take away food and I was am happy to report that it was fabulous! Probably the best part of it—the brown rice. YUM! Not white steamed rice or even stir fried rice but that yummy kind of nutty tasting brown rice perfectly cooked and lovely. Is your mouth watering yet??? Well all I can say is if you are in Raleigh—check out Peace China Restaurant in Seaboard Station. Fabulous and great owner and staff!

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

An Abundance of Katherines

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
