It  was a really long day.

I was young, excited and if truth be known a little scared.

Maybe a lot scared.

The delivery did not go as planned, labor did not progress well, drugs were administered and the baby got a little stuck.

But the end result via Caesarian was magnificent.

There is nothing like a baby to bring joy and happiness.

Micah has done all of that and more and as we celebrate his 33rd birthday today I have to marvel on how far he has come from that 7 pound newborn.

What excites me most about Micah is how he has really grown up to be a very well rounded and caring young man.  Growing up he was competitive and driven to be the best  that he could possibly be.  He worked hard to reach goals and achievements.  He was always dependable and stepped up when we desperately needed him to step up.  In a nutshell, he grew up.

When your children are young you wonder what they will be like when they grow up.  Micah is the very best version of himself right now.  We are so proud of him and my heart bursts when I think about his future with his beautiful wife, Wendy, and what they will be able to accomplish in their lifetime together.

I debated whether I would write this post today and decided that I am allowed to be sentimental today.  It’s been a rough few weeks and I am looking forward to this weekend when our little family will all be together for the weekend.  We will celebrate birthdays and graduations and family and this mama is feeling really blessed.  And there might just be some cake as well which will top the weekend off perfectly.

Hope your week is filled with happiness and love as well.  Don’t forget to leave a comment for a 50 cent donation to our Comments for a Cause – Imagination Library.

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

All the Light We Cannot See

This is quite a book! I had it recommended to me by several people and while I thought it might be a little dark and depressing it made me have a better understanding of what life in this time period was like. The strength of the huma...

An Abundance of Katherines

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
