2017 Here I Come – The Ripple Continues

10 Comments/ 490/ 2

2017 is here.

Like it or not 2016 is in our rear view mirror.

There are probably thousands of quotes about time.

Time marches on.

Time flies.

Time waits for no one.

Lost time is never found again.

Time stands still for no one.

You get the idea.  Time is of importance in our world.  It is prudent to be on time.  It is irritating when someone is habitually late.  So time is a very important thing to be aware of.

This week I continued to be amazed at how negative many on social media continued to be when they wrote about 2016.  It was all doom and gloom and sadness.  Negativity oozed from so many posts and I found myself wondering why so many people felt that 2016 was so horrible.

We definitely had our own personal challenges in 2016.  Health issues for both my mom and my brother in law top the list but that does not define the entire year by any means. There was an engagement, time with friends and family, the opportunity to vacation and see God’s hand in the beauty of nature, and a multitude of other wonderful things.

I STILL believe that we can each make a difference.  No matter where you are.  No matter what your education.  No matter how little money you make.  YES!  We can all do our part to change the world and start a ripple in our own little corner of the world.

So today I choose positivity.  I choose love.  I choose to make a difference however I can.  What do you choose?

Take a look at my Facebook Live post that I did earlier this week.  Ignore the beach hair (I don’t care) .  I was just feeling like I needed to talk about it and didn’t really prepare ahead of time which is obviously shown by my hair. I am real if I am nothing else, right?

Tell me what plan to do in 2017 to Be the Ripple.  All comments this month go to support our Comments for a Cause — ASPCA.

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
