Evacuate, Evacuate!!!

1 Comment/ 1354/ 0

Not sure if you will be able to actually read the writing on the above picture but hope that you can! Sunday I gave the message at church and imagine my surprise when I stepped into the pulpit and there, on the floor, the only thing around in sight, were evacuation procedure instructions!!! I guess the trustees thought that was the ideal place to put the instructions but it kind of struck me as funny! I mean, really—was I “in charge” should be need to evacuate? And since I hadn’t really read the directions I think I would not have been very good at it! Hopefully others had read them before me!!!

So thanks to all who offered up prayers on my behalf—-I was calm and felt like it went well and hopefully my message came across and gave some folks something to ponder this week. I had a lot of support in the pews and beyond and it was nice to be involved in the service. I guess I have missed that more than I thought since I have left Epworth UMC in Concord, NC. I had some of my best working years there and my job there was tailor made for me. Not that I want to go back but I have great memories and lots of great friends from those days!!!

Much to do today —-I need to get cracking! Flying to North Carolina tomorrow to pick up Aaron’s old car which is now my new car and spend some great time with friends in Mooresville and Concord and then back to Raleigh to spend the weekend with my “baby” after his first week of work!!! Then on to Ohio to visit my mama and sister and brother and sister in law which will be wonderful! Can’t wait! My road trips are always so much fun! Lots of driving this trip but well worth it in order to see everyone.

So here we go–another adventure!!! Stay tuned and remember to keep those happy lists coming!!!

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
