Comments for A Cause – Sharing Where Needs are Great

6 Comments/ 556/ 0

We are finally here – December 2020. It seems like we would never ever get here but yet here we are. This will definitely be the year that everyone remembers, won’t it? Through it all we have persevered, sacrificed, and remained strong. With the happy news that a vaccine for COVID-19 is going to be released soon it makes things seem a little bit brighter.

This past month I highlighted a charity that is part of the Gary Sinese Foundation. What wonderful work he does on behalf of veterans and first responders. You can read my complete blog post that highlights his efforts here.

I focused on the efforts that help to support the first responders with an emphasis on COVID-19 help. The chart below shares a bit of where the grant money is being directed.

Chris and I are happy to report that due to the comments made on the blog during the month of November we will be making a donation of $147 to the Emergency Covid-19 Combat Service. Thank you to each one of you for your comments and your willingness to read my posts. YOU are making a difference.

December brings a lot of great ideas for donating to charities. Food drives, toy drives and Angel Trees are some of the various ways that we can give back, With the pandemic I am realizing just how much need there is. People are really having to make some tough decisions about what they can afford to do for their families . Budgets are stretched and opportunities are limited for so many.

One of the best places that I have found locally to donate to is our own Transylvania Christian Ministry Sharing House. I have featured them before as a Comments for a Cause recipient and just feel led to highlight them one more time in December. This is our family charity this year and I am honestly to happy that they are such a great organization that truly gives back to the community in a variety of ways. Through their food pantry, clothing ministry and also through financial assistance they are making a huge difference by being God’s hands to our neighbors.

Please join me this month in supporting this wonderful resource in my community. Each comment made on any blog post during the month means a 50 cent donation to Transylvania Christian Ministry Sharing House. Now is the time to be generous so feel free to make a donation of your own to my cause or to one of your own this holiday season. Today is also Giving Tuesday so it is a perfect time to give back to your favorite charity.

Thank you so much for your continued support and for taking time to stop by and read. I have the best followers and I am grateful for each one of you.

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
