Embrace, Hope, Generosity

4 Comments/ 2186/ 0

Way back in January I decided to pick three words that would be my theme words for the year.  I think I needed to be reminded today of what those words and actions are so I am going to share them again with you.  It seems like it is appropriate and it kind of keeps them in front of me.

Embrace

I am going to embrace life more.  This means I am going to live in the moment, not worry so much about the future and live each day to its fullest.  It also means that I am going to embrace people more—whether it is a hug or a note of encouragement or just trying to meet and make more friends—I am going to do it.

Hope

I am going to focus on hope this year and try to convey this message to everyone I meet along my journey whether it is in person on on my blog.   Hope is a good thing, don’t you think?   There are a lot of folks out there that just need a little encouragement in this department and this is a good thing—to be a promoter of hope.   It has been a tough year for many but there is still hope.  There is always hope.

Generosity

I am going to practice generosity more.  There are many ways that I can do this—I don’t think it has to be just monetary.  I think generosity can be extended in many ways–the gift of time to someone could be a real gift.   The gift of just doing little things like letting someone in front of you in line or letting someone out in traffic is a small act of generosity.   And I am going to donate more—-whatever I can do , I am going to do it!

And my song of the year which I need to listen to everyday!!!   Enjoy and let me know what you think.  Did you pick theme words this year?  How are you doing???   I would love to hear from you!!!

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
