Going Above and Beyond—#North Iowa Bloggers Are Making a Difference

12 Comments/ 3702/ 0

I love how things come together unexpectedly sometimes.  I love how I can still find so much good in the world amidst the sadness and tragedy.  I love how people continue to amaze and astound me.  Quite frankly—I am loving life right now.

When I had this little idea I threw it out to my North Iowa Blogger family and they all jumped on board so I am thrilled to announce that we are embarking on a campaign of sorts to raise more awareness and help stock our local food pantries.

The month of October I designated my Comments for a Cause to be for Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank  and tomorrow I will reveal the amount that we will be donating to them as a result of Comments for a Cause.  During November our North Iowa Blogger group will be promoting both Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank and The Franklin County Food Pantry by collecting donations of both canned goods and money to be donated to both of these great facilities.

Food bank donation

I am thrilled to be able to promote this on It’s Just Life and hope that you agree that this is a great thing to do in November .  I know I have so much to be thankful for—November is definitely a month for thanks and I am going to show my thanks in a tangible way with a donation of food.

If you would like to join in on the food drive with the North Iowa Bloggers we would love to have you join us.  You can email me at beth.chiles@gmail.com if you would like to make a donation and I will follow up with you.  How awesome would it be to have this little local food drive go crazy big???? I would be beside myself.

If you would rather donate to your own food pantry PLEASE do!!!!  They are all in need of food and especially as the holiday season approaches the needs are great.  Ozzie Ohl from the Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank posted a list of things that are most needed and I would venture to say it is a universal need.  Please join us in November—give what you can where you can.

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
