Good Morning, Monday!

20 Comments/ 3854/ 3

Happy Monday morning to you!  I am still lounging in bed with two cats on either side of me, watching it rain and listening to the wind blowing outside and I am wondering what you are up to today as you start your week off.

My week begins with Chris leaving for a 2 week stretch where we won’t see each other which kind of bums me out since I have gotten kind of used to his face being around but it is our life and I am very grateful for the job he has.

To keep myself from missing him too much I have a couple adventures planned which include a visit to see Aaron and my new grand kitty, Diego, in Raleigh.  Yes!  It’s official.  I have an adorable grand kitty named Diego and I suspect you might see some pictures of him.

Then it is off to Charlotte to see my BFF Ann and go to see Women of Faith for the second time this year.  We are both looking forward to it and I am so excited to share it with Ann.  I went earlier this year with my sister and niece and it was a great time. There also may be a post coming about all things Pumpkin Spice Flavored……

Some of you may wonder about the torrential rains that Joaquin has dumped on the east coast and if we have gotten some of that.  We have gotten a lot of it and today the wind is kicking up as well.  The cats are freaking out with watching leaves blowing around on the porches.  It kind of cracks me up.  We were working on creating another lake in Connestee Falls between our yard and our neighbor’s yard.  Fortunately it has gone down a lot since I took this video on Saturday.  Apologies for the poor video quality.  Not sure what the deal is with it.

We got a lot of little projects done around the house this weekend and it is feeling more like we live here.  It is a weird thing this moving.  It takes awhile to figure out how things will fit in and what pictures will work where, if curtains are needed or will just detract from the view, what plants we may want to use in landscaping that the deer won’t nibble on, and just figuring out the rhythm of my days here.  We are settling in but our travel schedule will continue and I am not going to say no if Chris says “hey-do you want to come with me to._____”.

Oh and remember the hair chopping I got?  Well, almost 8 weeks later I think I can stand my hair.  Just need to get the grays covered and a little trimming done but this time I will be crystal clear about the cutting part.

So as Monday develops I wonder what you have coming up on your docket.  Let me know in the comments and don’t forget that the Comments for a Cause this month will go to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.

But before I go how about a picture of one of my favorite visitors?Doe

That is a whole lot of rain! I’m so glad you’re in the mountains though and not on the coast! I’d be a wreck worrying about you! So glad to also hear that everything is feeling more like home! Hugs!

It’s all good now! The sun was out all day today and I really feel like we have turned the corner with the rain. We got nothing compared to the coast and Charleston.

    Love the grand kitty!

For your landscaping, try New Leaf – they’re on the internet and they are off of Route 64 on the way to Hendersonville. They have great plants and great owners who are very helpful!

You really do live in a park, don’t you? I would be a little nervous with all that flooding. But it looks like you’re up a hill a bit from the lake???

    Diego is adorable. Adorable.

Sounds like you have fun travels ahead. I’m doing a poetry reading later this week. Then the weekend will involved final clean-out of the garage and a trip to the landfill. Yes, the basement project is nearly done and I moved a lot back inside on Sunday. Then my sister is hosting her annual soup party…

I do live in a park. Trust me. It is wonderful here. Simply wonderful. Today I managed to get a chair out of the lake that blew in during the storm. Thanks to a rake and the neighbor who came to make sure I did not fall in it is now back on the dock. It was quite amusing. I could see it but had a hard time pulling a water logged chair up while maneuvering around the kayak. 🙂 Good thing there were no cameras around for that.

Sounds like you have a good plan to keep yourself busy. We have been busy, dinner out with new friends Monday, a visit to a chocolate factory (yes you heard right!) Tuesday and lunch to celebrate my mother-in-laws birthday Wednesday. Next week off on a cruise to France, Italy and Malta. First meeting Canadian friends in Barcelona before we leave. Stay dry, warm and safe my friend.
