What an awesome idea!!! The author of Flowers for Algernon used to teach at Ohio University. Such a cool guy! Did you take a book and leave one? Which ones??
Isn’t it great? I loved it and felt right at home. And seeing Flowers for Algernon took me back to my younger days in Ohio for sure. I didn’t take a book but I did leave one that I read but for the life of me I can’t remember which one I left behind. My son did take a book before I took this picture so it was used for sure.
It is amazing the little treasures you can find in these book exchanges. We have one in our mail box enclosure and i have found books I’ve been looking for, for some time.
Love that. Most of the rentals we stay in in NC have books for your perusing. I think that’s such a nice idea. And I always love finding something I wouldn’t normally pick up. 🙂
Most of the places we have stayed in recent years have had books that you can read while you are there and I usually end up donating one or two to the pile. It’s such a great way to share the love and also like you said to find ones that you may not have read.
All hotel/motel/B&B rooms should be stocked with books…not *only* the Gideon Bible! I’d like to have a deal with Amazon to get new books into the basket along with our culls, in a friend’s AirBNB. If people want to keep a book they’d buy it (as part of the room fee), but they can preview a dozen or so free of charge…even ask for a new basket with different books the next night.
My town needs more book-loving visitors. They come for camping (or NASCAR) but they eventually have to sleep…
Nice ideal. Last year we vacationed in a cottage at Nags Head. It shared games but not books. We went with a group of people and it would been good to have both sense people are different in what they like.

Well isn’t that neat? I love that you have found books you wanted to read –wonderful!
Sometimes books find you. xo
Perfect!
Isn’t it perfect? And I loved the little whale sign holder.
Well, I would say you were meant to stay at that particular vacation rental. 🙂
I think so as well.So many of them have books you can read while you are there but this one really went above and beyond. 🙂
What a great idea.
I thought it was. Of course I left a book as well. 🙂

Oh yes I agree! It would be great to have something like that in AirBNBs for sure. Great idea!

Yes–I do like it when there are games but a nice mix of books, dvds and games makes the perfect rental for me. 🙂
Such a wonderful program!
It really is a wonderful way to share books. And it doesn’t even have to be a big deal anymore –just set up a little shelf someplace.
