A Little Sand and Sunshine to Brighten the Day – Marco Island

14 Comments/ 63/ 1

Who doesn’t love a few pictures of sunshine and sand to brighten up a day?

I know a good portion of the country is dealing with snow and cold and otherwise miserable weather.  It is not my intention to make those conditions seem worse but instead I want to encourage my readers with pictures of sun and warmer temperatures.  Those days will come soon enough to the areas of the country who are experiencing the deep freeze of winter .  Well maybe not the sand part but warmer temperatures.

If you are feeling a bit stuck in the cold and dreariness of winter take heart. It won’t last forever.

The weather at Marco Island, Florida during our extended stay has been a little bit flakey.  I think it is mirroring the weather in the rest of the country.  But I take it all and am just happy to be able to take it all in.

Fog and cold have been our visitors in Florida as well but honestly I was able to take it all in stride.  It meant that I was able to read more, finally get wedding pictures ordered, get some letters written and get some blog posts done.

These pictures will be reminders to me as well when the weather in North Carolina shifts to cold and rain that there are always brighter and sunnier days ahead.

If you are stuck in a cold and wintery state what do you do to deal with the winter that you find yourself living in?  Do you escape to the beach or do you love all that winter brings?  Tell me all about it in the comments and remember that each comment this month means a 5o cent donation to our Comments for a Cause recipient for the month Cooperative Christian Ministry.

Looks like a lovely place you have parked yourself for the beginning of the year. It has turned a bit chilly here in Spain but can´t complain when I see what parts of North America are dealing with. Nice to be able to relax and get some things on the to do list done. Who is looking after Buddy and Holly while you are away?

It has been a nice getaway but all good things must come to an end. Today I pack up and get ready to leave. But I am good with that. I am ready. Going home will be a shock because it is going to be cold there and rainy I suspect but hopefully not snowy like a lot of the rest of the US. I have a really great young lady who comes and takes care of the kitties or else I would have a harder time to leave. She and her mom have pretty much adopted Buddy and Holly and look after them. We have been really blessed with finding folks who will do that when we leave.

We have found the perfect sitter for Dot when we go away as well. She loves it there and they love her. Plus she gets to play with her dog and the other dogie guests. (she only takes in a few select dogs and it is in her home so not a kennel) When she comes home she sleeps for three days!! The kitties will be happy to have you back.

Oh your weather is seriously not looking good up there. Ugh. Stay warm and do some great cooking, right?

Such a pretty place, and it looks so empty! Where are all the snowbirds? (PS: Love the egret!)

Oh, how I needed to view these warm and sunny pix on a subzero (but sunny) Minnesota morning. Thank you.

In Idaho, we are blessed to have four true seasons – so yes, we get some serious winter here. The key is to know how to dress for playing in the winter! Polar quality coats, gloves, hats and great snow boots. When you are appropriately dressed, you can enjoy the winter pleasures! In February, we will enjoy the McCall Winter Ice Festival, where artists carve giant ice sculptures around town. That said, we also leave in February for a week in Hawaii – just to make sure we have the stamina to endure winter cold! ~ Lynn

We love Idaho!!! I didn’t realize that’s where you lived for some reason. Cour de Alene and that area are magnificent. And yes— you have to know how to dress!

And we are at both ends of Idaho! We live in Boise (Southeast), but hubs family is from the panhandle, east of Sandpoint (North of CDA.)
