Pet Peeves and Gift Card!!!

15 Comments/ 3082/ 0

Be forewarned…..this post will be a controlled rant! Been thinking a lot about things that just bug me. As you can tell I have time on my hands. Lots of time to think about useless things. Things that may only matter to little ole’ me. But things that bug me just the same. So today I will share with you just a couple of those things! You are the recipient of my rant today.

First off—what ever happened to quality workmanship? I mean—really! I spent a bit of time yesterday sewing on buttons and hook and eyes on NEW clothing!!! On shorts that were not even tight (hence not needed to pull and stretch to get the button fastened!) It makes me sad to think that some fingers someplace in Vietnam or Sri Lanka or someplace do not have the strength to sew a button on properly so that it lasts more than one wearing!!! Good grief! Is it just me? I don’t think so! Not that I can’t sew on buttons—I can! But when you buy an article of clothing you would “assume” that it comes properly made and that the buttons will stay on longer than a minute. Not so with about 5 pairs of shorts and capris that I have purchased recently. Craziness.

How about people who talk on their cell phones when they are checking out of a store? That is the height of rudeness to me. If I get a call when I am checking out I let it ring. It is only going to take a minute or two for me to finish and I am not vain enough to think that I am so important that I have to take this call thereby telling the cashier that he/she is less important than me. Come on, people. Use some common sense and the manners that your mama taught you!

Since I have been driving a bit lately on various adventures I may be zeroed in on driving habits a bit more acutely than I was. How about those folks who don’t know how to merge? When they come to a dead stop on the ramp instead of taking in the big picture and gauging when to merge. In New Zealand they have the sweetest signs—it shows a zipper and says “merge like a zip”. Yea, that is what we need to do! All lanes need to be aware of merging traffic and adjust!!! But for goodness sakes—don’t come to a dead stop on the ramp!!! Silliness.

Don’t even get me started on packaging. You know what I am talking about—that ridiculous plastic packaging that you end up cutting your finger over trying to get the product out! There is no easy way to get into it. I know it is all about theft prevention but seriously. When I risk blood loss to get my SD card is it really worth it? A side note—Aaron and I were picking up a few items at the store before we headed back to North Carolina and Iowa respectively and he needed razor blades. Now I know that they are expensive and all now but the display we went to had them behind a little plastic cover thing that lifted up. On the front of it it said “alarm will sound when lifted”. Now how the heck were you supposed to buy those things?? They were far from the registers and pharmacy counter….where did the alarm sound? It scared us enough that we did not buy them. So if you see Aaron and see his stubble you can blame the unclear sign on the razor display.

So that is enough ranting and raving. I would welcome any additional pet peeves. Leave a comment (Just click the “comment” button close to the top of this post) and leave your thoughts. Best pet peeve will receive a sweet gift card so start commenting!!!
