Savory Kielbasa Pasta Skillet

Savory Kielbasa Pasta Skillet

I love simple recipes and today’s offering takes hardly any time at all to make and includes only a few ingredients which makes it a winner in my book.  Great any time of year for a hearty and delicious meal—it may be what’s for dinner tonight.

Savory Kielbasa Pasta Skillet

Ingredients:

1 pound package of any type of Kielbasa

8 ounces pasta—any kind works fine—I used penne for this recipe

1 package of chicken flavor boost (I used Swanson’s)

chopped colored peppers (optional)

2 cups fresh kale, collard greens or spinach (any green will work—just add for different flavors)

Directions:

  1. Boil pasta until al dente.  Drain and set aside.

  2. While pasta is boiling slice  kielbasa into 1 inch segments and cook in 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet until slightly browned on both sides.

  3. Prepare greens by washing and chopping into bite sized pieces.  Drain and set aside. If using peppers wash and cut into chunks.

  4. When kielbasa is cooked, add pasta and flavor packet to the skillet and heat through.

  5. Add greens to the skillet as well peppers if including them. Stir and  let wilt  and cook a little bit before serving.

Easy and simple.  A winner in our house.
