Now we know where to get some when we need it!!!!

Chris and I were musing this morning over the fact that last year at this time we were spending our weekends on adventures to see beaches, waterfalls, rain forests, coffee plantations and wineries. Today our big adventure was to travel about 30 miles to Osage to go to the Fox River Mills sock sale. Big annual event and quite a fundraiser for local charities I would image!!! And a pretty great deal if you were in the need for any kind of sock–lots of folks were there for Day 2 of the sale sponsored by the Rotary Club and we managed to walk out with about 20 pairs of socks and some gloves. They definitely had a system and next time I will be a little more aggressive in finding socks for me but I just wasn’t really into being aggressive today I guess!

We decided that that just wasn’t quite enough excitement for us today so we headed to one of our favorite little towns, Decorah, to continue our day of adventure. We walked the town, shopped a little, bought some things at the awesome kitchen store there and then headed to Dunnings Spring to see the waterfall there. So see—we still get to see waterfalls! It was pretty and we got a few nice pictures of the day to remember it by!

So even if we aren’t tramping around Australia right now we are still seeing beautiful things and enjoying time together. A great day of 70 degree weather so we figured we had better take advantage of it. Now cheers to NCSU for beating Maryland and now we are watching UNC beat Duke. Hopefully the game will end with UNC ahead!!!!

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
