I love to share books on the blog that I have read that I think are worth reading. I am looking forward to some intense book time in the next couple of weeks as we travel (if I am not too busy hiking and sightseeing) and was thinking back on some of my favorite books I have read this year. Trust me, there are a lot that I would not recommend but these are a few that stuck with me.

Imagine a podcast, best friends, narcolepsy, near death experiences and a mysterious disappearance. Are you intrigued? If so, This Story Might Save Your Life by Tiffany Crum is worth a read.

Grief is hard. So hard. When Tilly receives a notice from the local bookstore telling her she has a book waiting for her she is puzzled. Then she discovers that her newly deceased husband had pre selected a book a month for an entire year that would help her get through her first year without him by her side. This is a sometimes emotional read but a truly lovely story of how love and the love of reading can help overcome even the most difficult of circumstances.

Love ice dancing and all the drama that goes into training for Olympic events? This one may become your favorite. Selected as the 2025 Book of the Month Lolly nominee this one was a fun one to read. It was a quick read but full of unexpected turns as we follow the careers of some Olympic hopefuls.

A town full of secrets. A double murder. A missing girl. All these things come together in Mary Kubica’s book to offer a fast paced and fun read. While I didn’t have it all figured out before the final pages, I did enjoy the journey through the pages of trying to figure this one out. Another great book by this author that I enjoyed and would happily share with others.

.

Any recommendations? I am always looking for new books to read and new authors so hit me up in the comments and I’ll consider my options. As always, thanks for reading along and for taking the time to comment.

I’ll be taking a couple of weeks off from the blog but I will be back — see you back here in a couple of weeks!

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

An Abundance of Katherines

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
