Teapot Tuesday

15 Comments/ 3286/ 0

I recently found a lovely woman on Ebay from Virginia who is listing her mother’s collection of teapots bit by bit.   Several communications have gone back and forth between us and it seems her mother is in a nursing home and they are downsizing collections and household items. While that makes my heart a little sad I have promised her that her teapots will definitely have a good home where they will be loved and featured.  This is one of the first ones I purchased.  Just in time for Christmas.

Did I mention that her collection numbered at over 1000 teapots???????   Yes, the mail deliverer has been busy lately.   🙂

This is so beautifully crafted, line by line, word for word. So much to love in this poem: Thank you for bringing it to us.

And how many of those 1,000 teapots are being chipped to Iowa?

I’m sure the family appreciates knowing the teapots are going to someone like you who will appreciate them.

This Christmas one is lovely. Do you have many Christmas ones?

I have probably 10 Christmas or snowmen ones. I have gotten about a dozen more from this lovely lady and she has taken such care in shipping them and saves them until I win several bids so we can combine shipping. She has been posting most of the Christmas ones to date but some other ones that are pretty cool. I have not paid much at all for any of them which is the whole point. 🙂

Over 1000 teapots?? Wow, what a find for you! Guess it’s true that one man’s “trash” is another’s “treasure,” though I’d hardly call this pretty pot “trash”!! Merry Christmas, Beth Ann!

The poem is so touching Beth Ann. It takes me back to when my Aunt Margie was still herself before Alzheimer’s left her with no memory. The poem has given me a nice memory to think of today. It would have been a glass of sherry in her case but it still resonates. And if I had a Mother in a nursing home with a teapot collection that needed a home I sure would want it to go to you.. 🙂 Merry Christmas Eve!!
