Teapot Tuesday

17 Comments/ 2011/ 0

This little beauty is one that I am “inheriting” from the house here in Lima.  I remember one time when Chris’s folks came to see us in Mooresville they went to “Cotton” Ketchie’s gallery and bought 3 pieces for their family room to put on display on the fireplace wall where there are 3 little shelves that jut out.   They were very excited about them and this was one of them so I will always have sweet memories when I look at it!

I found that sometimes the strangest things have much sentimental value. The sentimental value factor is what makes cleaning out a parent’s home after death so difficult.

So glad you enjoyed my book on Kindle.

Karen, so true!!! The things that have memories associated with them are the things that kind of hit you when you unearth them and you associate a specific memory with it—-and sometimes it hits you really hard, doesn’t it?
And I did like your book at lot!!! I was amazed at your dad’s organizational ability with all of the recycled things like cat food tins!! Amazing!!!

Yay!!! Glad you liked it!!! As a potter you can appreciate the beauty in it. As a non-potter I can even appreciate the beauty and the skill that went into making it!

I love it! What a special addition to your collection, complete with warm memories. Do you have all of these on display somewhere?

Mostly in a hutch and barrister bookcase—but they have infiltrated other rooms as well! 🙂
