Teapot Tuesday Goes to Scotland

Leave a Comment/ 18/ 0

Anytime we travel I always keep my eyes open for teapots. Our recent trip to Scotland provided many opportunities to find teapots. From fancy afternoon tea at one of our luxury accommodations to casual tea in pubs and restaurants, I was surrounded by teapots.

The best spot to find teapots was on our trip to The National Museum of Scotland. Teapots were everywhere and even though it was difficult to photograph the displays, I mangaged to get a few shots to share today.

The following tea service is the Burke tea service that was presented to Jane Burke, the wife of the famous politician Edmund Burke to commemorate his election as an MP for Bristol in November 1774.

I loved these Wedgewood teapots.

Owning silver teapots was an indication of status in the 1700- 1800’s.

This one was a little creepy but interesting at the same time.

As you can see there were quite a few displays with a lot of great teapots and varieties. It’s am sure I missed a ton in this massive museum but I loved the ones I found.
