Teapot Tuesday Goes to the Birds

19 Comments/ 3234/ 0

Yesterday I shared with you my sadness over my hour without the internet.  A measly hour but it left me feeling unconnected and discombobulated.  But today, friends, I share with you something that came from that all knowing and all wonderful internet.

Being active on social media outlets like Facebook and Pinterest allow the creative juices of many to flow continually.  I have pinned many images and ideas and forgotten all about them but one has stuck in my mind as the perfect easy thing for me to do here in our new home in North Carolina.

I love birds.  I love teapots. Birds + teapots = fun birdhouse.

So many people have tagged me in this post on Facebook or sent me pins on Pinterest showing a teapot turned into a birdhouse that I figured I needed to just do it.  birdhouse3The hardest part was finding a teapot that I was willing to sacrifice for the project.  I have a couple of broken ones from the move but unfortunately the part that was broken was the handle so this was not the right project for that.
birdhouse2I finally found one that was simple and held no real sentimental value out of my massive collection and BAM!  A bird home was born.birdhouse4Now it leaves it to be seen if a bird will actually take up residence in this beauty but I did try to provide the beginnings of a nice nest with dryer fluff, sticks and some cat fur .  I mean who wouldn’t want to have a nest made of cat fur?   I might have enough hanging around for a million nests so maybe I will just start tossing it all outside willy nilly.birdhoue5So what do you think?  Good idea?  Is it me or what?

Oh and the Gertie and George update?  I only see one at a time now so fingers crossed the other one is on the nest.

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

This is quite a book! I had it recommended to me by several people and while I thought it might be a little dark and depressing it made me have a better understanding of what life in this time period was like. The strength of the huma...

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
