Teapot Tuesday Goes to the Birds

19 Comments/ 2853/ 0

Yesterday I shared with you my sadness over my hour without the internet.  A measly hour but it left me feeling unconnected and discombobulated.  But today, friends, I share with you something that came from that all knowing and all wonderful internet.

Being active on social media outlets like Facebook and Pinterest allow the creative juices of many to flow continually.  I have pinned many images and ideas and forgotten all about them but one has stuck in my mind as the perfect easy thing for me to do here in our new home in North Carolina.

I love birds.  I love teapots. Birds + teapots = fun birdhouse.

So many people have tagged me in this post on Facebook or sent me pins on Pinterest showing a teapot turned into a birdhouse that I figured I needed to just do it.  birdhouse3The hardest part was finding a teapot that I was willing to sacrifice for the project.  I have a couple of broken ones from the move but unfortunately the part that was broken was the handle so this was not the right project for that.
birdhouse2I finally found one that was simple and held no real sentimental value out of my massive collection and BAM!  A bird home was born.birdhouse4Now it leaves it to be seen if a bird will actually take up residence in this beauty but I did try to provide the beginnings of a nice nest with dryer fluff, sticks and some cat fur .  I mean who wouldn’t want to have a nest made of cat fur?   I might have enough hanging around for a million nests so maybe I will just start tossing it all outside willy nilly.birdhoue5So what do you think?  Good idea?  Is it me or what?

Oh and the Gertie and George update?  I only see one at a time now so fingers crossed the other one is on the nest.

Did this teapot used to be out? It looks familiar. Anyway, I think it’s a great idea and now is a lovely home.

I think I probably had it on the hutch in the dining room in MC. It went with my “red” theme. 🙂

Of course it had to be red. Is there any other color?

        Haha!

I don’t understand why this posted as “justin1507” and not “marcib” – I changed it awhile ago and it’s been showing as marcib for awhile now. Then my computer decides to do stuff on it’s own! Like change from hotmail to outlook on it’s own and now I have to enter my full email address every time I want to log in as it’s not auto-filling and I can’t figure out how to fix it! Ugh. Computers! Sometimes…….

I noticed it had reverted to that. Weird. These things baffle me.

Now isn’t this just the most clever idea. We will expect updates. Did you paint the Lakeside stone?

I know. We shall see. It won’t be for lack of birds, that is for sure. I have a zillion!

Great idea! What a lovely use of an old tea pot, I bet it was hard to choose.

A great use of an unused teapot. I think the birds will love it.
