The Midnight Rambler by Don Carr

5 Comments/ 623/ 0

I love a good thriller and when Janell of Blue Cottage Agency reached out to tell me about a new release coming in December that I could get a copy of before publication I answered with a resounding YES! This publicity agency has been a great source of books for review for me and with a great number of the authors being Minnesota based I feel like I am always discovering new midwestern authors that I love.

I knew I had a week of beach time coming up and that this book would fit in with my “do nothing but read” plans for the week. So off I went with my digital copy.

I was not disappointed. My review is as follows.

Need a thriller that will keep you glued to your chair until the end of the book? Don Carr’s The Midnight Rambler fit that description for me and it might for you as well.

This new to me author and his ability to weave an entertaining and engaging story were just what I didn’t know I needed this week as I read The Midnight Rambler. The book follows EPA special agent Sophie Grant as she investigates an unbelievable toxic waste dump in Italy. So what does Sophie do when she finds herself up against the cartel and its leader–Camorra assassin Il Mezzanotte Ramingo-the Midnight Rambler? She enlists the help of her ex cop father who left the force under less than honorable circumstances.

What ensues is a wild ride of twists and turns and unbelievable events that Sophie is able to navigate in various ways. This book was so entertaining. Is there gore? Absolutely? Case in point the pet pigs who eat fingers. Yes. But putting all the gore and grossness aside, this is a well written novel that focuses on environmental issues as well as telling a great story. This is a book that will stick with me for a long time and I give it a two thumbs up . Pre order your copy today.

Don Carr is a talented author who has spent his writing career focusing. on environmental crime and spends time researching and investigating the issues that he so aptly writes about. You can find more information about him by clicking here to go to his personal website. You can also connect with him on social media like Facebook here and Instagram.

Big thanks to Blue Cottage Agency as well as the author for a free advance copy of this great thriller. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
