Three Words and A Song, Part Two

12 Comments/ 2816/ 0

Last January 1st I posted Three Words and A Song.  Kind of my New Year’s Resolution.  It worked out pretty well for me to do that and I referred back to my three words (Embrace, Hope and Generosity) quite a few times during the year.   I think I did pretty well with keeping those at the forefront of my life.   It has been a difficult year in many ways with sad events and challenges like everyone goes through but I am a better person today because of the things that have presented themselves to me.

I needed to pick three new words for 2012 to be my theme words.  It is not as easy as it seems.  There are a lot of words that would fit or things I need to work on but I have had to narrow it down.   Here we go!

Surrender  I find that too often in my life I resist things that are really good for me in the long run.  I fight for the wrong things and end up regretting it.  I think that for me this word will help me refocus on my spiritual life and allow me to surrender in all things to the will of God for my life.

Bigger   Is bigger better?? In this case I think it is!  I want to refocus and not put limitations upon myself and others.  I can do bigger things.  I can be a bigger person.  I can strive to be more.  Bigger in a lot of ways will be a good thing.  I need to start thinking more outside the box and stretch myself.

Rekindle   There are so many things that I have allowed to go by the wayside.  Friendships, good habits, a closer personal walk with the Lord.  My goal is to rekindle these relationships and make them stronger during 2012.

Last year I also picked a theme song and this year the one that keeps running through my head is Michael Jackson’s Man in the Mirror.  I can be the change and it has to start by looking at myself.  Don’t know if you can actually “enjoy” this video but it definitely is thought provoking and words that I am going to take to heart this year.  Happy 2012 my friends.  May it bring change to your life that is welcome and good.
