8 Comments/ 3181/ 0

Today I am thrilled to be a part of the Blog Tour and book review for my friend Rachel Smith’s new book Unwanted Love.  You still have time to add this to your Christmas Wish List and I think it would make the perfect stocking stuffer and book to enjoy during some down time over the holidays.

Thanks to Christina at CBBProductions for providing me with all the great promotional materials as well as making sure I got the ARC to read in order to review.  My review is included in this post so make sure you check it out as well as the GIVEAWAY at the end of the post.

synopsis

I’m wild.

I’m reckless.

I’m Kat Willis – the ultimate party girl.

My goal in life? To have a good time, a feat I seem to accomplish with ease.

I’ve lived a privileged life in picturesque Crystal Lake. On the outside, I have it all. Money, good looks, and any guy I want.

Until he came along….Jaxson McAllister. Insanely sexy with a killer smile, I never stood a chance. He saw a part of me I’d kept hidden behind the façade of a good time.

I wasn’t prepared for him to turn my world upside down, but when he did, all the broken pieces of my life fell into place. Everything I’d told myself I never wanted, suddenly became exactly what I needed.

A home.

A family.

Love.

REVIEW

Rachel Smith continues her winning streak with her latest book “Unwanted Love” . I was thrilled to be given an ARC of her latest offering and I was honestly hard pressed to put it down. I devoured it in two sittings and would have made it only one sitting had I not had to cook supper. It was a pretty substandard supper because I just had to get back to the book.

Rachel creates such wonderful characters and the main character Kat is one of those bad girls that you just have to love. Her wit and sometimes potty mouth all add to her charm and I was struck with the realness of her character. When she meets Jaxxon she is thrown for a major loop – after all she is the rich little party girl who doesn’t need any guy to complete her. Her life consists of one night stands and encounters that are meaningless. But then comes Jaxson and all that changes.

Of course there have to be some twists and turns in their relationship and the author deftly throws just the right amount of challenges into the mix to keep the reader wondering what is going to happen next. What will happen to Jaxson’s mom? Will Jaxson’s little brother, Trevor, become a part of their lives? Will Kat’s past always haunt them?

This is one of those books that will remain in my mind long after it has been finished simply because it is a fun story that is written in such a delightful and interesting manner. Rachel Smith is a fine wordsmith and I am already looking forward to her next novel. Please tell me it won’t be too long from now because I am hooked.
