How wonderful it is to be able to take a few days before we go back to the cold and snow of Iowa. But wait—-there IS snow in North Carolina still! It was rather odd to fly into Raleigh and see all of the snow on the ground, to try to navigate the tiny streets of Brier Creek with snow and ice still all over the road! But hopefully it will all be gone in a couple of days! There is supposedly a warming trend coming so hopefully we will be in the 60’s by the end of the week which will be fabulous for beach walking and exploring! We shall see!
Our flight was easy and on time and the flights were finally getting caught up. There were a lot of passengers milling around and the flight board still showed lots of canceled and delayed flights but hopefully that will get resolved in a couple of days. It just takes time to catch up when there are so many that are canceled and even though it is frustrating–it is life!
We made it to our vacation rental after dark last night so we will be exploring more today and maybe will post some pics! It is a lovely house and the best thing—a Keurig coffee maker!! Chris brought me coffee in bed this morning which was lovely and later we will venture out to get some groceries after Chris has some conference calls. I think we will have a lovely week here. Aaron is going to pop over later today so part of the family will be together again!!! Yippee!!
