Weekend Recap? Here You Go!

32 Comments/ 533/ 0

A quick post today to share just a few photos of what was going on with me this weekend.

Lots of family time which makes my heart so happy.

First up—I did Meals on Wheels with Aaron.  His company, Cisco, encourages community service and actually matches his time volunteered with a monetary donation as well.  Win win for Meals on Wheels which is one of my favorite organizations and a former Comments for a Cause recipient.

The route that Aaron drives is a nice route and I met a few of the recipients.  It is so much easier because they have an app for the route.  No more trying to figure out directions or having to go back to the starting point to drop off paperwork.  Perfect and I am glad Aaron is volunteering with one of the best programs around.

Then it was off to meet Micah and puppy Penny for lunch in Carrboro.   Micah was in town for his 10th reunion –how can it be that he graduated from UNC 10 years ago?  I don’t know.  Fun couple of hours catching up and playing with Penny.

Penny even got her wings.

After a nice lunch it was back to Aaron’s where we loved on the grand kitties Diego and Fajita.

Pet picture overload?

Come back later this week for a new Comments for a Cause and look at my favorite find at Wrightsville Beach from last week.

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

An Abundance of Katherines

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
