What I Am Loving Lately

9 Comments/ 494/ 0

How about a quick post about a few things that I am loving lately? You know you want to know all about that so read away and share some of your own things that you are loving in the comments section when you are done.

First up is what I am reading. I just finished The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah for our Gola Book Club group and since I hosted the gathering on Wednesday at Casa Chiles I am feeling all of the love for this book. It is based in Alaska so it gave me a bit of the Alaska flavor along with a compelling story. I would definitely recommend this one and think most of my reading friends would enjoy it.

What am I listening to? Mainly podcasts when I am getting ready in the morning or on the drive into town. Currently a couple of my favorites include Mob Queens and This American Life. Both can be found on any of your podcast channels that you use and both are worth a listen. They are totally different subjects but they keep me entertained.

After Maksim’s recent brush with a weird unexplained kitty illness I am a huge fan of Dr. Garland at Brevard Animal Hospital and the entire team at Reach Veterinary Specialists in Asheville. They are open 24/7 every day and gave us great peace of mind. I would highly recommend them for any animal emergency you might have.

I found a new wonderful popcorn snack from Poppy Handcrafted Popcorn in Asheville. The chocolate peanut butter flavor is AMAZING and I do not say that lightly. It really is good.

Fall is definitely here and with Thanksgiving just around the corner I am loving all the fall things that are still around. I don’t rush Christmas. Never have and probably never will. I like to savor the season, so to speak. With that being said I am loving the Mrs. Meyer Seasonal Fall Candle that I have burning right now. It is not overpowering and has just the right amount of scent.

There you have it. Just a few of the things I am loving right now. Share what you are loving in the comments and remember we have a few more days to Comment for a Cause for Shadowbrook Farm.

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
