A Few of My Favorite Things

53 Comments/ 571/ 0

Every once in a while I like to share a few of my favorite things with my readers.  Today is your lucky day if you joined me on It’s Just Life because it is one of those days when I do just that.  Aren’t you so glad you stopped by?

First up is a lotion spray that I found on my last trip to Ulta.  Yes – a spray lotion.  I love it and the scents are perfect for me.  Light and not overpowering at all – just a nice subtle scent.  The lotion sprays on in a fine mist so it is easy to rub on my skin and makes my skin nice and soft.  Love it.

Next up is this amazing cookbook by Joanna Gaines. This woman is a powerhouse and I have always loved watching her husband Chip and her on Fixer Upper on HGTV.  This book is a lovely mix of beautiful photography, recipes and snippets from Joanna herself.  I have tried a couple of the recipes and loved them.  The recipes run from simple comfort food to more complex “company” food and I love her additions of personal experiences.  Perfect gift book for someone you know who loves to cook.

Don’t you just love it when you find an amazing hand crafted item that you can actually use?  Such is the case with this set of hand carved creations from my friend Beth’s son, Will Burney.  Will sells his work at the local farmers market and in other venues and has a Facebook page here and Instagram page here.   Make sure you especially check out and follow him on Instagram.  His talent is amazing and I use the spoon and cook stick almost every day and absolutely love them. They have replaced my cheap wooden spoons and I won’t turn back.

I found these perfect note cards at my favorite local bookstore Highland Books in Brevard.  They have an amazing selection of books, will order anything you want, as well as a full line of greeting cards, stationary and Ten Thousand Villages items. This box of cards jumped out at me and I think you can see why.  They fit me to a tea.

Finally check out my latest “bouquet” that I made for the staff at the place where my mom lives.  Fun, huh?  Chock full of snacks that they can pick out and snack on during their shift.  It’s hard to figure out what to do for people sometimes but I hope this idea will be well received.

Thanks for stopping by today and sharing a few of my favorite things.  Do you have a new favorite thing you would like to share?  Tell me all about it in the comments and it means a 50 cent donation to our Comments for a Cause for the month – Bread of Life.

Old Girls in Low Cotton

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
