Every once in a while I like to share a few of my favorite things with my readers. Today is your lucky day if you joined me on It’s Just Life because it is one of those days when I do just that. Aren’t you so glad you stopped by?
First up is a lotion spray that I found on my last trip to Ulta. Yes – a spray lotion. I love it and the scents are perfect for me. Light and not overpowering at all – just a nice subtle scent. The lotion sprays on in a fine mist so it is easy to rub on my skin and makes my skin nice and soft. Love it.
Next up is this amazing cookbook by Joanna Gaines. This woman is a powerhouse and I have always loved watching her husband Chip and her on Fixer Upper on HGTV. This book is a lovely mix of beautiful photography, recipes and snippets from Joanna herself. I have tried a couple of the recipes and loved them. The recipes run from simple comfort food to more complex “company” food and I love her additions of personal experiences. Perfect gift book for someone you know who loves to cook.
Don’t you just love it when you find an amazing hand crafted item that you can actually use? Such is the case with this set of hand carved creations from my friend Beth’s son, Will Burney. Will sells his work at the local farmers market and in other venues and has a Facebook page here and Instagram page here. Make sure you especially check out and follow him on Instagram. His talent is amazing and I use the spoon and cook stick almost every day and absolutely love them. They have replaced my cheap wooden spoons and I won’t turn back.
I found these perfect note cards at my favorite local bookstore Highland Books in Brevard. They have an amazing selection of books, will order anything you want, as well as a full line of greeting cards, stationary and Ten Thousand Villages items. This box of cards jumped out at me and I think you can see why. They fit me to a tea.
Finally check out my latest “bouquet” that I made for the staff at the place where my mom lives. Fun, huh? Chock full of snacks that they can pick out and snack on during their shift. It’s hard to figure out what to do for people sometimes but I hope this idea will be well received.

Leave a commentThank you for featuring Will’s wood work! You, my friend, are one of my favorite things! 😊❤️
And YOU are one of mine!!!!
What a great idea, a snack bouquet! I must do something similar for the staff at my mom’s care home. They work so hard and are so good to the residents under their care. Those note cards are pretty nifty!!
The snack bouquet is so simple and you can put anything in it!
Love the snack bouquet! I may use that this week for my VBS volunteers!
It’s so easy to put these together!
Excellent things! When you made the bouquet how did you attach the food items to the sticks?
I used lots of hot glue!!! Works great!
What a cool idea!!! I love the bouquet! I may have to check out that cookbook and the body lotion! What a terrific idea for a blog post! Love it!
Thanks for stopping by!
Yay for the snack bouquet- great idea! I want to try the spray lotion. This may not be new- but this summer my younger discovered McCormicks Grillmaster Sweet & Smoky rub. We put it on everything- from meet to corn.
Oh that sounds yummy!!!
That snack thank you bouquet is such a great idea. Those staff work hard to care for people and who ever thinks of thanking them in this way? You, my friend, because you are such a caring person. Bless you for this act of kindness.
It is a very easy thing to do and hopefully they will enjoy it.
The spray lotion is interesting to me! Great items on your list though!
The spray lotion is pretty nice. It is different for sure but I am kind of hooked on it.
I like the cookbook.
It’s a good one for sure!
How neat to have a spray lotion. I have never seen that. The cards, wooden kitchen tools, and cook book are great too. Wonderful favorites. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for stopping by!!!!
Love it! I am a big wooden spoon/utensil fan so I’m going to have to check out his Instagram page!
He is so talented. Crazy talented!
That’s an amazing basket and I love that you think of people and show them your appreciation! The Magnolia book is on my wishlist and I think I’ll have to stop by Ulta to check out the spray lotions! Thanks for sharing!!!
I love the Magnolia book!! Seriously one of my favs now.
That snack bouquet is so thoughtful and I bet it made their week. Will have to look for those lotions.
The staff loved the snack bouquet and we had to put it away rather quickly because the residents were eyeing it. 🙂
