A New Tea – Teapot Tuesday

9 Comments/ 12/ 0

It’s not like I need any more tea with a tea cupboard overflowing but I just can’t pass up trying something new. On our trip to Hawaii we were able to visit Lydgate Farms – a Chocolate Farm. I will be sharing more about that later and how wonderful their chocolate is but today I wanted to share a somewhat unconventional tea that I bought there during our visit.

The tea is unusual – made from the roasted husks of the cacao beans to make a slightly chocolate scented tea. I brewed it and sweetened it with a bit of honey and it was an unusual and enjoyable tea. They also recommend using it to make iced tea with orange and honey, or using it to make Chocolate Vodka or Chocolate Rum.

Brewing instructions are clearly printed on the bag which is so helpful.
I wish you could smell this dish. Oh my goodness. The lovely aroma of
chocolate hit me when I opened the bag and I love it.
Sweetened with a bit of honey (I should have used some of Lydgate Farms honey–we
actually bought some and brought it home but I forgot to use it. Next cup.

So what do you think? Yay or nay to chocolate tea? I have had some that a friend gifted me that I love and this is a whole different take on it. It has a lighter flavor and is not overwhelming at all.

Outside of the chair, the teapot is the most ubiquitous and important design element in the domestic environment and almost everyone who has tackled the world of design has ended up designing one.

I would so love this. Anything chocolate and I´m sold. I have had chocoñate Rooibos and enjoyed it. Always good with a chocolate chip cookie!

Oh Chocolate rooibos sounds good. I have not tried that either. This was a nice change from my normal tea flavors.

I would try anything that includes chocolate. That opinion comes from someone who is only an occasional tea drinker.

It has a pleasant but not overpowering chocolate taste so I bet you would like it for a change every now and then from your usual hot drinks.

Interesting. I’ve had tea with cacao in it but not a cacao tea like this. I love trying new teas and wouldn’t have passed that up either.

It was fun to try a new thing that was out of the ordinary. I liked it but didn’t feel like I would want to drink it every day. Maybe a little more honey would be the key. 🙂
