Chrisisms: You Know You Have Missed Them

22 Comments/ 421/ 2

From time to time I have shared Chrisisms here on It’s Just Life.   These are just little quips and comments that my beloved makes that make me giggle from time to time. Sometimes they are serious but most often they are humorous.  I haven’t posted any for months.  Guess we have had kind of a dry spell of wittiness here but here are a few for your reading pleasure.

We were discussing some folks who we thought were control freaks.  You know those people who always have to have their fingers in everything to make sure that it goes exactly the way they want it to go.  Those are the people who have to follow every single rule to the finest detail.   Chris said ” Rules are what led to the Salem witch trials.”.   Yikes!

Buddy was racing around the house and was acting all crazy.  Chris said he had “cat timers”.

When we were talking one time about love and joking about hunks of love Chris said “I am more of a blob of burning love now.”  Well blob or not—I will take him!

Once when we were reflecting upon some of the places I have lived in my life we got to talking about a place I lived with my parents right before we got married.  It was a very strange little town with very odd people.  Chris referred to it as “a gene thimble instead of a gene pool”.  Pretty accurate.

We were talking about fishing Chris was extolling the value of using fake bait because according to him “you don’t want to keep feeding your worms to the bass and just give them away.”  I guess that makes sense.

We love our cats but sometimes they won’t leave us alone.  Especially when we have been gone for awhile.   Upon our return from a trip Chris could not get Buddy to leave him alone and said he was an “invasive” species.

And now a few from the vault:

“She needs to add on to her closet to hold all the skeletons.”

“People are rude.  They give pigs a bad name.”

“You’re blogging me off!”

And the one that started it all 5 years ago when I started writing them down:  “We are just spinning in our teacups.”

Hope you enjoyed my latest Chrisisms and my funny honey.  Stop by anytime and leave me a comment.   Each comment this month goes to support our Comments for a Cause – Click here for more info.

Old Girls in Low Cotton

An Abundance of Katherines

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
