Come Fly With Me!

2 Comments/ 35/ 0

How do you start an overseas trip off in style? Why, stay at the TWA Hotel at JFK airport, of course. If you have never heard of this hotel – let me tell you this- it is one not to miss if you can. Think 1960’s, red carpet and accents everywhere and just fun, fun, fun. Chris booked one night for us to stay between our domestic and our international flights and it was the perfect place to spend a night.

Walk into the hotel and you are greeted with a step back in time. From old cars to 1960’s type furnishings it is almost like being in the Jetson’s cartoon world. What fun.

The fun futuristic design is carried throughout the entire facility and every where you look you can see the unique TWA design.

Red carpeted long hallways lead to well appointed rooms.

The building houses many things including a huge gym. a retro salon exhibit, the wonderful Paris Cafe, Connie, a 958 Constellation airplane turned cocktail lounge, the Sunken Lounge as well as a TWA display of uniforms and more.

If a retro stay is on your bucket list I would highly recommend staying here for a night. It truly was the perfect way to begin our overseas trip and I was so thankful that Chris was able to make this dream of mine come true. If you want more information about a stay here or see some really great pictures of the hotel just click here to go directly to the TWA site.

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
