Comments for a Cause – Caring for Others

10 Comments/ 583/ 0

As promised It’s Just Life is all about Comments for a Cause today. It’s been a great month for sharing with my readers a new charity that my mom contributed to over the years. Ohio Guidestone (formerly Berea Children’s Home) had a special place in the hearts of my parents and I was so happy to connect with this great organization a little bit. They do a lot of really great work with children and youth and lend helping hands when needed. If you want to read more about what they do click here to go to my original post.

Chris and I are thrilled to be able to make a donation of $200 this month to Ohio Guidestone to help with their continued work in my mom’s memory. I think that would make her smile and I know that each and every small donation makes a difference and adds up over time. Thank you as always for your continued support, reading, and commenting on blog posts so that the comments add up.

I also found out that our donation to Hannibal United Methodist Church will most likely be used to help. purchase window coverings for the parsonage which they have been working hard to renovate. I know my mom would have loved that our donation from March went to something tangible like that.

One of the organizations that I have loved for many years is Hospice. The people that work for Hospice are a rare and unique breed of people. They go the extra mile. Whether the organization is associated with a hospital or a private hospice community I have found that my dealings with several over the years have been exchanges of love and compassion. They step in when extra care is needed and provide valuable end of life care for loved ones.

My mom was only under hospice care for about a week but the folks at Hospice of the Valley – Columbiana County were top notch. I was the contact person and I can not tell you the comfort that they provided me in a short period of time. Knowing that there were extra hands there to care for my mom’s physical needs as well as providing spiritual comfort to her during her last days was such a relief to our family. My mom always supported hospice over the years and it seems natural to be able to make Hospice of the Valley the recipient of our Comments for a Cause for May.

Thank you to each one who takes the time to read and comment here. This month, as always, for every comment made on any post Chris and I will make a 50 cent donation to Hospice of the Valley in memory of my mom. Thank you for helping us make a difference one comment at a time.
