Welcome to March. The year is moving right along and Comments for a Cause on It’s Just Life is moving right along with it. Thank you to all who continue to stop by, read and leave a comment so faithfully every week.
This past month I wanted to honor my mom and donate to one of her many charities and organizations that she supported. I chose Hannibal United Methodist Church in Hannibal, Ohio to start off the year of memory contributions. Hannibal was one of many churches that my Daddy served and it was where I called home for my first 8 years of life. The church still holds a lot of fond memories for me. You can read my original post by clicking here.
I am happy to share that with your comments and all of the love that has been shown on the blog Chris and I will be making a donation of $150 to the church to be used however they see fit. I am happy to share a little of our blessings with the congregation.

As I have shared many times my mom lived at Copeland Oaks in Sebring, Ohio for over 20 years. It was her home and the place where she loved to live and be active.

One of the best things that she did as a volunteer there was to work in the library. Now you know that I am all about the love of libraries and books and felt that this was another one of my mom’s charities that I would love to support on the blog. I can’t tell you how often I went with her to the library and how great it was to see what they had available to the residents and staff there. They are so appreciative of donations and the villa association there made a donation of a book in her memory after her death.
Please join me this month and leave a comment whenever you read a post. Each comment means Chris and I will make a 50 cent donation to the Copeland Oaks Library in memory of my mom, Helen Brown. As always, thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment. It is so appreciated.

Leave a commentThat looks like a well stocked library. Books are so important for the people in senior´s centres. I am very happy to be able to support this month´s comments for a cause.
Both are wonderful charities to donate to! I hope to volunteer at a library when I’m a little older, when I’m more settled and traveling less.
It’s almost spring! Glad we are supporting the library. How do they get their books? Simply through donations or does Copeland buy books, too? I would think there are lots of readers! Have a great day, Beth Ann
Hey Jean! I know they get monetary donations and use that to purchase items for the library but not sure if they take donations of books from residents as well. They might have a little budget from Copeland as well. Books are a winner. Hope you are enjoying the lazy river!
Reading has been an important part of my life for as long as I can remember, but most of my reading these days is on my iPad. It is still special going into a library 📚! When I start a book, I have to look at the front to see the picture. 😀
Since retirement I have been trying to read more. Love books.
I love that you and Chris support such worthy charities this way!
As a fellow book lover I can definitely get behind this month’s cause. Not that I don’t appreciate all the other causes you chose but anything to do with reading and books is just great.
Another worthy cause ! And a great tribute to your Mom !
So happy to hear your church is getting $150 what a blessing I know that will be. I love the picture of the library. So peaceful and I think of all the people who have read books there. I think it is a wonderful cause.
Another wonderful cause – so glad to help in my own little way to provide donations to those things your mother loved. ♥
Your mom would be so honored with your chosen causes. This is such a gift of love.
We loved going to the library as kids. My sister & I went many times and always had a stack of books. My dad loved to take us to the library in any town wherever went on vacation in the summer. One summer my sister even set up a library in our bedroom. I had to bring my “library card” to show the librarian (my sister) so i could check out a book. Fun times! I guess my sister like it so much that she ended up being a librarian. I think I would have enjoyed going to the library with your mom.
Libraries are always a good cause. I used to call the library my second home but since COVID haven’t been inside as much. Still reading.
