Currently Consuming: A Curated List of Things Holding My Life Together

Leave a Comment/ 7/ 0

I always love to hear what others are reading, watching, listening to or doing so I thought I would offer that up on the blog today for my readers. It is definitely fall here and while I have pumpkin bread on repeat in my baking rotation (you know it makes the house smell so yummy), there are a lot of other things that I am doing that are helping me to celebrate the season. Pumpkin spice everything!

Reading is top on my list and I usually have several books going either in book form, audio book or on my Kindle. I am an equal opportunity reader, that is for sure. So what’s on my nightstand or couch side? A few options.

This last one is one I am reading to see if it is a good series for Theo. It’s pretty cute and I think he would get a kick out of it. He is doing a fundraiser for his school for reading and has goals and I think this series would be fun for him as he gets better at reading.

Next up- what am I watching? On my own I am watching World’s Most Evil Prisoners. I love a good prison based show. Not sure why but it just intrigues me how people get to the point where some of these inmates find themselves. It’s a pretty interesting show with lots of “experts” sharing their opinions and expertise.

Chris and I finally finished up Blue Heelers after over a year of watching a whopping 510 episodes. It’s an award winning Australian show that ran for 13 seasons beginning in 1994. I love a good cop show and this one had us hooked. Currently we are watching McLeod’s Daughters – another Australian drama that has some fun storylines.

I’ve been listening to a few podcasts while I clean and work on house projects and it is always fun to discover new ones. Currently I have started listening to Jane Austen’s originals as read by Julie Andrews. Right now I have started Emma which I have never read so breaking it up into a podcast is a fun way to listen to a classic. I have also started listening to Snapped: Women Who Murder which is another one of those crime podcasts that intrigue me. Of course these are added to some of my regular ones that I have shared before but it is fun to find new ones.

I’ve been doing a bit of cooking and baking and I have cracked open the Skinny Taste recipe books again after taking. a bit of a break and am making some pretty yummy dishes according to Chris. This week’s menus include Honey Mustard Chicken Bake, Giant Turkey Meatball Parmesan, and Lemon Parmesan Shrimp with Broccoli and Cauliflower.

I am not totally focused on crime and evil doing so don’t you worry. I am balancing out the horrific with some great fall walks and hikes and am enjoying the start to leaf season here. The leaves are starting to change and fall is definitely in the air.

So tell me- what are you reading and watching? Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks for stopping by today!

Old Girls in Low Cotton

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
