Creativity with a Twist

1 Comment/ 17/ 0

There’s a new shop in Brevard, NC and it is one that I am already in love with. Sometimes stores come and go in our little town and we all miss what used to be but a new shop has opened up at 60 W. Main Street that has caught my eye and the eyes of others in the area. Welcome to Sunshine Creative Reuse— a new creative workspace and art supply thrift store where anyone can come to create and connect.

.

.

.Sunshine Creative Reuse began with a vision: to bring something new to Brevard—a vibrant, imaginative space where creativity and sustainability meet. A place where families, artists, teachers, students, and curious wanderers could gather to make, explore, and connect. In my humble opinion – it is a great addition to Main Street.

.

.

Sunshine Creative Resuse is the brainchild of Jamie Oulton who started it in 2024, Sunshine Creative Reuse grew from her lifelong passion for the arts, a desire to spend more time in a creative hands-on environment, and a commitment to making the arts more accessible to the community of Transylvania County. I love this and to top it all off, she worked to create a non-profit so that donations made to the endeavor can be made with that in mind.

.

So what does a “creative reuse” space look like? Pretty amazing as you can see from the pictures I snapped when I took my own initial 32 pound donation of paper crafting supplies in.

.

.

When I stopped in lugging my box of donations they were so wonderful and I was thrilled to see all that they have to offer. Items are on display for purchase with very reasonable pricing so the store offers items for sale as well as creating experiences and worshops.

.

.

My donation consisted mostly of scrapbook paper, embellishments, punches and other paper crafting items but they have it all.

.

.

.

I did not take time to browse when I was in because remember – I am downsizing – but I will definitely stop in and check the inventory out the next time I am in town. I imagine it is constantly changing.

.

.

The upcoming classes include a youth collage night and a make a scarf night which sound like great offerings along with their ongoing creative maker space that is available. I definitely have to keep an eye on their schedule because I am sure there will be a class that I want to take.

Next time you are in Brevard, make sure to stop at this new store and find your new favorite craft to do or simply stop in and shop for a new pen or marker or stamp. Welcome Sunshine Creative Reuse. I love what you are doing. Make sure to check out their website to get all the details about classes, to schedule a donation time or see what donations they need. I think
