Fall Foliage on the Blue Ridge Parkway

9 Comments/ 126/ 0

Just a few pictures today to share a bit of the color on the Blue Ridge Parkway this past week. While some areas were bursting with color, other areas were not. It just depends of where you are driving and what elevation you are traveling through.

But to me, it does not matter one bit. It is all beautiful. If the colors are changing for fall it is all the better but I love the drive on any of the Blue Ridge Parkway anytime.

There is beauty everywhere. The Parkway was busy with cars and motorcycles, bikes and RV’s when we took a day trip on Tuesday. Everyone wants to see the leaves changing colors.

Can you see why we all love to take time enjoying this area? It is so beautiful and with so many overlooks available it is one of the best drives you can make anytime of year.

That’s a whole lot of trees for this prairie girl. But beautiful none-the-less. I can see why you love this region.

The trees are what make me happy –all of those beautiful trees that have so much history and stories if we could listen to them. Such a beautiful time of year.

Lovely. Our leaves are just starting, really. Some fell in August but the colorful ones are still waiting for frost, which has yet to arrive in Virginia.

It’s coming. I promise. We were surprised at how varied it was on this trip.
