John 13:34–35 (ESV): 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Love.
Four little letters.
Love is shown in so many ways every single day. Many times love is shown without any thought. That is how love is most appreciated. When love is shown automatically it is authentic and real.
Love in the Christmas story is shown in a variety of ways. First there is the love of Joseph for Mary — presented with an impossible pregnancy he loved her enough to believe her and to remain with her. The love of Mary for her baby – Jesus – is at the center of the story. The ultimate love was the love God has for His children by sending his son in human form.
Today I am focused on love. The love that envelops and enfolds each of us. That feeling that we are cared for and about. it is so comforting and during unsettling times it is what I cling to.
I wish you all love. The love that holds you close and makes you feel all warm and cozy and safe.
