Llamas and Sheep and Cows oh my!

Leave a Comment/ 945/ 0

Chris would have rather me left this picture off I am sure!!! But what is a fair experience without a corn dog??

We didn’t try this delicacy but it sounds interesting, don’t you think???

Not sure about this one either….

Everything on a Stick!!!

The line for this was waayyyy too long so we did not sample the pork chop on a stick but it did look yummy!

Chris got this–nut roll covered in chocolate on a stick….I passed and he had about half of it– a little rich!!

These were yummy—Grater Taters—with ranch dressing. A little hard to eat walking around so we found a bench and ate!!

And what would a fair be without a huge turkey leg to munch on??/

It was been quiet on the blogfront for a few days…sorry but been working on the house and not much to blog about that would be worth writing down!!! But yesterday—-oh yesterday we went went to the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines and had a great time. We walked and walked and walked and saw a lot of fun things and of course we took pictures so I going to do “theme blogs” about the wondrous Iowa State Fair!!!

Today I thought I would focus on the food of the fair. If you could put it on a stick—it was there. Even if you couldn’t put it on a stick it was there. I totally enjoyed the creations and seeing different foods that people were chowing down on and believe me—Iowans know how to eat fair food. So enjoy the pictures and look for a few days worth of fair stuff!!!

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

An Abundance of Katherines

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
