Nursery Rhymes and Cats – It’s Teapot Tuesday

18 Comments/ 776/ 1

I have several cat themed teapots in my collection and some of  you might remember this one that I found in Dothan while we were temporarily living there a few years back.

This post shares a bit of cat love from awhile back. Buddy and Holly are both gone now and Maksim has been with us for 6 years. Today, Misha will become a part of our family. It seems only right to share a bit of cat love today on Teapot Tuesday.

A picture of me with a kitten from a few years ago. One of my favorite childhood pastimes was playing with our cats and we had quite a few over the years.

Cats have always been a part of my life and I have a long history of loving all of the cats that have come my way.  Pictures of our family growing up show cats in almost every picture. Buddy and Holly were brother and sister and always up for a photo shoot.

Today’s teapot was a perfect find at Tuesday Morning in Dothan.

Paul Cardew teapots are always a lot of fun and finding one that had cats on it was another great find.  Thanks for stopping in today and for seeing what is brewing on It’s Just Life.  It is a busy couple of months so lots will be going on.  Can’t wait to share it all with you. Come back for Comments for a Cause — I’ve been lax on that recently.

One of the shining moments of my day is that when, having returned a little weary from an afternoon walk, I exchange boots for slippers, out-of-doors coat for easy, familiar, shabby jacket, and, in my deep, soft-elbowed chair, await the tea-tray…. [H]ow delicious is the soft yet penetrating odour which floats into my study, with the appearance of the teapot!… What a glow does it bring after a walk in chilly rain! ~George Gissing, The Private Papers of Henry Ryecroft, 1903

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...
