What’s On Your Camera Roll? Check Out Mine!

13 Comments/ 64/ 1

Another edition of What’s on My Camera Roll is what is on It’s Just Life today. One of my favorite things is to snap pictures of various things and share them and today I decided that it was time to do another camera roll post.

Now I don’t claim to be the best photographer or have the best composition in my photos but sometimes it is fun to just see what my phone camera finds worthwhile to take pictures of.

First up – a couple of pictures from my recent Ohio trip to see my mom. They have an aviary where the residents can watch the birds and I took my mom there a couple of times.

I especially liked these two little guys who liked to sit side by side.   I managed to get my mom outside on a day when it was hot and sunny and since she is always cold it was a pleasant surprise to her to wheel out and feel the warmth for awhile. Thus will always be one of my favorite pictures.

Our clubhouse in our neighborhood has been undergoing a facelift and renovation since the spring.  It was finally time to move the books back into our library and I was able to go help with that this past week.  I love all these volunteers who help out and while we get used to the new smaller space it will be exciting to actually have the library up and running again.

It is located kind of off a hallway and is a little hard to describe but hopefully it will get continued use and folks will be able to find some great books to read and puzzles to borrow.

The clubhouse itself is still not totally open for operation but I did sneak a peek at the newly renovated grill and it looks pretty nice.

I do love this railing that is outside the library and the mural of the golf course that is just outside the library. (Ignore the boxes and construction zone.)

We spent much of our week and weekend just waiting for Florence to arrive.  While so many others have experienced devastation we have not seen as much rain or wind as was originally predicted.  Which is kind of nice but kind of makes me feel worse about those who have really been hit by the hurricane.

The calm before the storm.

Our driveway is a green and brown carpet now but at the time I took this picture it was barely raining.

Of course I managed to find lots to do in the house including laundry and how could I have a camera roll post without a picture of a cat?  Buddy soaking up the warmth from the newly folded warm towels.

Hope all my readers are safe and dry.  It’s been quite a week while we have all kept an eye on Hurricane Florence.  The real work will begin soon with all of the clean up.

In the meantime leave me a comment and let me know how you survived Florence if you were in her path.  All comments mean a 50 cent donation to our Comments for a Cause – Books for Africa.

So pleased you escaped the worst of the storm. Buddy sure knows how to keep warm! We spent last week helping Paul’s dad find a suitable mobility scooter. It was delivered on Friday evening. He is pleased as punch with it. That is the picture on my camera roll (phone) right now, of him on his new wheels. The picture of your mom outside is precious. xo

A mobility scooter sounds like the perfect thing to be excited about! Glad it is working out for him and hope it keeps him moving along. It’s an important part of life to be able to remain as active as long as possible and I am sure the scooter will help out a great deal!

We had so many helpers! We were on top of each other in this small space but hopefully it will get a lot of use once everything is back open in the clubhouse. I can’t wait to see it all as well!

Thanks! It really was a non event for us. The sun is out and nothing is even flooded around us which is a surprise but we just did not get what was predicted. I am glad but still feel for those who were hard hit.

First of all, LOVE the pic of your mom. You will treasure that forever. Thankfully, the storm missed us, but I feel guilty being relieved when I think of those who have suffered devastation because of it.

I know exactly what you mean. Chris and I kept thinking we were going to get hit harder and are thankful we didn’t but feel horrible for those who suffered so much loss . Now is the time to kick in the help!

I love that your mom’s place has an aviary and a place to sit outside in the warmth. I wish Aunt Vi’s place had had an aviary, she loved her birds and maybe I could have convinced her to get out of bed and go see the birds. But then again, probably not.

I like the light in the photo of the bench. Very nice! And glad you didn’t get hit too bad with Florence.

I think I love your house! In a community with a library and a community center, and you have a stacked stone fireplace! I think I want to move there! Less snow for sure.

Oh, that shot of your mom – so sweet. I’m glad she was able to soak up some warmth and get outside for a bit. I’m also glad to hear nasty ol’ Flo was more of a non-event for you down there. I remember all too well going to Staten Island, NY after Superstorm Sandy and helping clean up the aftermath there so my heart goes out to those affected by Florence. We are getting rain from that system here now but it doesn’t look like it will stay around for too long.

I’ve been keeping my eye on Florence from away. It’s always so nerve-wrecking and scary…
Love your birds. They are adorable.

Wonderful camera roll pictures. I also feel deeply for the path that Florence took.

As usual…we get rain. Apart from having to resend some documents that were sent just before a deadline, rain’s the worst of it, and now it’s sunny and belated-August-weather again.

I like the knitted blanket shawl.
